Delivery Volunteers Needed

Baby Box Delivery
Provide needy moms with diapers, formula, baby clothes and other essentials through no-contact drop-offs! Volunteers pick up items from Catholic Charities Pittsburgh office downtown during business hours and make deliveries to client homes. All addresses are within 15 miles of the downtown office.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, many Allegheny County clients of Catholic Charities of The Diocese of Pittsburgh have not had access to reliable transportation. To meet the needs of the medically vulnerable and housebound, they have been conducting appointments virtually or over the phone. This has allowed them to provide aid and guidance to those in need without interruption. For our Pregnancy & Parenting Program, however, this created some logistical challenges.

New and expectant mothers in their program receive education and support as a part of their regular appointments – but they also receive material supplies, such as diapers, wipes, formula and baby clothes. To ensure these moms and babies get everything they need, Catholic Charities developed Baby Boxes, which are weekly care packages filled with the essentials clients would receive if they were able to come to their appointments in-person. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers providing no-contact deliveries, these moms and babies have not had to go without!
