Monday, December 11, 2017 – Handling the Holidays
The weight of grief can feel particularly heavy around the holidays. It is not unusual to worry about how to handle family traditions, social invitations, decorations, etc. Join us as we discuss some common concerns, offer suggestions for handling the holidays and share some special ways of remembering loved ones at this time of year.

Monday, January 8, 2018 – Grief and the Winter Blues
The weather can affect anybody’s mood. But for those who are grieving, cold weather and long winter nights can often intensify feelings of sadness and social isolation. Come join us for a cup of tea or warm cider as we discuss the normal seasons of grief and share ideas for beating the winter blues.

Monday, February 12, 2018 – Love and Loss
It has been said that grief is the cost of allowing ourselves to love. As Valentine’s Day approaches, we’ll discuss the connection between love and loss, and then spend some time sharing stories and honoring loved ones who are gone.

Monday, March 12, 2018 – Gifts of Hope
In this last segment of our Grief Discussion Series, we address the questions, “How long does grief last?” and “Is there really such a thing as closure?” We‘ll also discuss taking care of oneself and share ideas from the Twelve Gifts of Hope Project.

Sessions are the 2nd Monday of the month from 6:30pm-8:00pm – December 11, January 8, February 12, and March 12. Advance reservation is recommended but not required.
