We are very close to the finish line in our series on Generosity today. We have been sharing a series of messages and studying together how God pours into our lives and how it is that we respond to that generous love through our outpouring of generosity.
In our first week, we talked about trust. For some of us, giving for the first time is an act of trust in the one who promises to uphold us in our lives and our giving. Giving is building that capacity to place our trust not in the things of this world or on our things in life, but in the very Word of God that has the capacity to hold us in both good and difficult times. Trusting in God can sometimes be acted out in the ways that we respond to his generosity in our giving. Our next step for some was to begin to trust in God in our capacity to give and give for the first time. Intentionally giving allows us to gradually grow in our understanding of how God supplies us with all things.
