Monthly Mission Focus

Monthly Mission Focus

The Mission Outreach Committee strives to spread the word of God by promoting and supporting opportunities for mission through education, personal service, and financial support in order to positively impact the lives of others.

January Mission Outreach

HEARTH offers transitional housing for women and their children who are homeless and survivors of domestic violence or other trauma, providing a range of supportive services and housing. The families live in onsite apartments while completing a program that gives them the tools to get an education, employment and to move into stable housing.

HEARTH provides a hand up, not a hand out. They give parents the support they need so that they can focus on learning how to become financially independent. Parents are given access to resources to complete their education, attend case management meetings, and learn self sufficiency and parenting skills. Children are given support and stability so that they can develop and thrive, with many of the program participants now moving on to graduate from high school, go to college, obtain employment and break the cycle of poverty and homelessness that affected their families.

Many volunteers from Ingomar Church have been involved with HEARTH, but those opportunities are on hold due to the pandemic. For now, please consider a monetary donation to support this important and successful organization.

For more information about HEARTH, please contact Tara Maziarz at, visit, or call 412-366-9801 ext. 3913.

You can give to this ministry through IConnect, Give+, or text an amount to 412-504-7798 using the code “hearth” – example: $100 hearth

Through the Mission Outreach Committee, Ingomar Church disburses approximately $98,000 annually to domestic and foreign Missions, including Mission scholarships. Funding comes from the Church Operating Budget, the Rummage Sale, the sale of Giant Eagle cards at church, and proceeds from Amazon Smile, as well as from the generous donations from our congregation.

Information about the agencies can be found in the Monthly News Brief, the Mission Focus videos, and on the church website. Our goal is to keep the congregation informed about the different missions we support and to provide opportunities for hands on experiences for all ages.
