Teens today face tremendous anxiety and pressure due to expectations society is placing on them. Join us on April 7 for a special seminar and discussion about “School Anxiety/Pressure.” Experts will discuss what this anxiety and pressure looks like, how to recognize when your student is experiencing too much pressure and what you can do as a parent to help your teen. We will also learn about community support that is available to help both teens and families
Our leaders will be Carolyn Welshonce, member of Ingomar Church for 15 years, who is a School Social Worker at Pine-Richland School District. She has served in this role for the past 7 years but has been a School Social Worker for the past 14 years. Carolyn received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pittsburgh and is a licensed Social Worker.
Carolyn will be joined by Jean Whalen, who is the Director of College and Career Counseling at Pine-Richland School District. Jean has served in this role for the past 12 years, but has worked within the district for 19 years. Jean received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of California San Diego, majoring in English and also receiving a certification in College Counseling.
You are invited to join us weekly (Sundays at 9:45am in Room 125 A in the Community Life Center) and for our special seminars.
