We Need LOVE Now More Than Ever
1 John 4:7-21

Let us pray: In this advent season, we pray as our ancestors prayed for a king that would be our justice, a son that would come to us with your righteousness. May you judge your people with righteousness and your afflicted ones with justice. May the mountains bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness. We praise you for your promise O Lord, that you alone can do marvelous things. in this day, may your whole earth be filled with your glory. And as we come in anticipation, we pray a simple prayer that you would fill us with that hope of your coming and the love of your advent among us. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
Several years ago, Tracy and I decided to extend our family vacation to the beach by spending a few days with the girls in Washington DC. We took it as an opportunity to see a part of the country that we had not seen with them before and to see so me of the national treasures that are so close to us, but that we often neglect to see.
Most of our time those few days was in and around the National Mall. The monuments and the memorials were natural sites for us to visit along the way, something that placed us in the midst of so much of our history as a nation.
