Led by Kelly Rupp, Wellness Coordinator, the Wellness Ministry of Ingomar Church supports, educates, and encourages the congregation and community through Christ-centered programming and activities to promote physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional care and well-being.
- Monthly blood pressure screenings (2nd Sunday of every month after services)
- Grief support groups
- Memorial Walk- Annual walk to celebrate lives of deceased loved ones (in May)
- Blue Christmas Service – A service intended to comfort anyone not feeling joyous at the holidays, suffering loss of health, job, relationship, or the death of a loved one
- Hospital and home visits to church and community members in need of resources, help, advocacy
Wellness NEWS: Free colon cancer screening program
UPMC Passavant is offering a no-cost colon cancer screening event for anyone in the community between the ages of 50–75 who is reluctant to get a colonoscopy, but would be willing to have an easy, reliable, non-invasive alternative test.
If you haven’t had a colonoscopy for many years or ever, you may qualify. This screening is by appointment only at UPMC Passavant in McCandless. Contact Kathleen Bryte, MSN, RN, OCN at 412–748–5762 for an appointment.
