Elementary-age kids are in a constant state of discovery.  They are almost always actively learning and making choices that will shape their relationships.

How can we tap into the way kids are naturally wired to discover‚ so they can begin to experience for themselves who God is, how He sees them, and how much He loves them?

How can we show them God’s big story and help them discover the active part they can play in this life-long adventure, to be more like Him?

How can we help kids to build a solid foundation on God, our everlasting rock?

Using the curriculum and resources in 252 BASICS, Kids on the Rock invites kids to discover and live out a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with God and with others.  We equip kids from kindergarten through fifth grade with basic truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52:

  • I need to make the wise choice.
  • I can trust God no matter what.
  • I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

So that’s the foundation, but we do more than teaching three basic ideas. We also take kids into the heart of God’s Big Story.

Worship music, skits, and activities are organized around key Bible stories that help kids discover Jesus and reflect His character to the world around them. And, to make it easy to understand, we focus on weekly Bottom Lines—short phrases that are so easy to remember they can be reinforced at home throughout the week.

On the whole, Kids on the Rock and 252 Basics invites kids into the Story of God, to show them the character of God, all while helping them internalize the 3 Basic Truths and build a strong foundation.

Matthew 7:25 (NIV)
The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
