Fog – Have you ever observed it from your front door? Have you ever walked in it? Have you ever driven your car through it?

The other night I was watching the weather report on KDKA with Ray Petlin and he turned his attention to the existing fog at that time. Instead of saying what the temperature was in Cranberry, in Moon Township, in Bethel Park and downtown Pittsburgh, his map of western Pennsylvania displayed the visibility distance in various places in our viewing area. Some places had 3 miles of visibility. That’s how far you could see through the fog. Other places had visibility of 2 1/2 miles. Other places had visibility of 1 ½ miles and others less than a mile.

I don’t like fog. When I awaken in the morning and I see fog I worry for my wife who may have to drive through it to get to work. Looking at fog from my front door is OK. and I’m fine walking in it. But when you have to drive through fog, I don’t like it.
